After graduation, George’s first job brought him to Santa Barbara, CA. The past 20-year’s career pursuits included pioneering multimedia technologies and managing web and client software engineering teams. In addition, his creative ideas have brought him awards and grants, and local, national, and international invitations to speak regarding his research with multimedia, distance learning, and artificial intelligence.

George’s interest in art has endured during these past 20 years, painting continually, primarily in oils. An important turning point for George’s work came shortly after the birth of his second son, Oliver. " It was time for a break." George shares, "Having talent to paint is one thing, having focus and purpose is altogether another. I felt that if I wanted to make a statement, if I wanted my work to have an emotional appeal, there needed to be focus, a higher reason driving my work. Drawing inspiration… from my reconnection with my Christian faith was an important turning point. I now see my works as glorifying God by celebrating what God has created for us to enjoy. Scenes of pastoral beauty, scenes of family love expressed through walks in the woods, scenes of a person in a moment of prayer or worship. These are the scenes that capture my interest, and they have given me the direction I have been looking for. " George has recently been working in acrylics which dry quickly as opposed to oils which take several weeks to dry. " Now I can complete an idea, while it is still fresh in my head, and I am constantly refreshed by the quick turnover of works. " he relates.

John Biasotti mentored George, where he learned the discipline and patience in order to draw and paint. His current painting interests are portraitures (often using his two red headed sons as models) and pastoral landscapes.
